Abstract

The synthesis of a chelating resin can be achieved either by attachtnent of an appropriate complexing agent to a polymeric matrix or by polynierizatioii of a suitable chelating n'tonomer. 2 Both approaches would lead to an efiective chelating polymer if the ligating behaviour of the ehelating group in the polymeric matrix is similar to that of 'the active group in the monomeric system.
