Abstract
While the corresponding alkyl derivatives are unstable? the 4-arylisoxazolones 2 are stable compounds which are synthesized in high yields. From'H NMR data, all these compounds exist mainly in the NH tautomeric form in chloroform solution. Compounds 2a3 and 2i4 have been previously reported.
