Abstract
Screening for small molecules or drugs that can protect or restore mechanosensory hair cells has been hampered by limited cell numbers. InNature Biotechnology, Koehler et al. (2017) have developed a human organoid-based approach using basic developmental principles to generate large numbers of bonafide hair cellsin vitro.
