Abstract

View all references via microwave-induced reactions without solvent. We now describe here a remarkably rapid N-alkylation of acridone in dry media under microwave irradiation (Sch. 1). The reactions were carried out by simple mixing of acridone, alkyl halide, a catalytic amount of tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) and NaOH/K 2 CO 3 adsorbed in Al 2 O 3 , and then by irradiating in an open vessel in a domestic microwave oven for 2–4 min.
