Abstract

Abstract The combination of ring-closing metathesis (RCM) followed by an intramolecular Pauson–Khand reaction gives direct entry to tricyclic compounds. The RCM was carried out on a hexacarbonylcobalt-complexed alkyne, this complex acting as a protecting group against enyne metathesis.
