Abstract The easily installed and removed N-(2-pyridyl) sulfonyl group exerts complete C2 regiocontrol over the Pd II-catalysed C [BOND] H alkenylation of indoles and pyrroles, affording the corresponding products in good isolated yields (typically≥ 70%).
