Abstract

The “hydroamitlc” Ptrricture of “triisobutylidenediamine,” first prepared by Lipp from isobutyraldehyde and ammonia, has bwn confirmed. Compounds having this same type of structure are produced by the reaction of tertiary aldehydes and: mmoiiia. The hydroamides of secoiidury aldehydes are thermally decomposed to N-alkylidenealkmyl: tmines; the corresponding dcrivstives of tertiary nltlehydcs are dissociated to nitriles and aldimines.
