Abstract
74 BENNETT AND BUNCE VOL. 25 age yield. In several cases the hydride reduction led to the formation of cyclopropylphenylcarbinyl ether in yields up to 76%. Conversion of the carbinol to cyclopropylphenylcarbinyl bromide (111) in 84% average yield was accomplished using phosphorus tribromide at-15" without significant rearrangement.
