Abstract

THE substituted biphenyl-4-carboxylic acids, 4-bi- phenylylacetic acids, and 4-aminobiphenyls were re- quired for the measurement of the ionisation constants which are discussed in the two preceding Papers. The characterisation and purity of the products was therefore of considerable importance, although the methods of preparation were standard and require no comment.
