Abstract

Summary Starting from 4-nitro-4′-aminodiphenylsulphone, by diazotisation and further transformation, the corresponding 4′-chloro, bromo, iodo and hydroxy compounds were obtained. For the preparation of the chloro and bromo compounds it was found to be advantageous to treat the diazonium salt with an aqueous solution of copper sulphate and sodium halide.
