Abstract
Summary Coconut shells have been analyzed by methods that have been developed for woods. The yields of lignin and pentosans from the shells are higher than those from woods. Conversely, the yields of holocellulose and Cross-Bevan cellulose from the shells are considerably lower than those from woods.
