Abstract

A procedure is described foi the preparation of deuteriLed Raiicy niche1 for use in deuterating the triple bcnd selectively to the double bond with a view to obtaining dideutero- olefinic compounds. A comparative study of hydrogenation and deuteration has been made, and selective deuteration is shown to be as effective as hydrogenation.
