Abstract

Although there is considerable information on thermal reactions and rearrangements of allylic compounds in general, relatively little can be found regarding allylic sulfones. Allylic sulfones were the subject of one earlier study2 to determine whether thermal rearrangement to the corresponding sulfinic esters occurred.
