Abstract

Abstract A “state of the art” route to enantiomerically pure synthetic α-amino acids on a multigram scale from commonly available starting materials (below) is described; it relies on the combination of palladium-catalyzed amidocarbonylation and enantioselective enzymatic hydrolysis.
