Abstract

The product of the reaction with methyl azide, I, is identical with the l-methyl-lin- naphthotriazole-8, 9-quinone prepared recently by Fries, Walter and Schilling3 by another method. The normal oxidation-reduction potential of this isolog of anthraquinone in 50% alcohol, 0.1 N in hydrochloric acid, at 25" was found to be 0.235 v., a value not far from that for the corresponding 1-phenyl derivative (Eo= 0.256 v.).~ One object of our investigation ...
