Abstract
The reactions of dimethylformamide with cyanogen chloride and with thionyl chloride have been studied, and several of the products identified by spectroscopic methods. As in the case of a previously reported reaction between dimethylformamide and cyanuric chloride, Vilsmeier adducts are formed.
