Abstract

Summary By a modification of the synthetic method previously described, methylcholanthrene can be prepared rapidly and on a large scale using p-chlorotoluene, 0- chloropropionyl chloride, and a-bromonaphthalene as the starting materials. The over-all yield in the six-step process is 20%.
