Abstract (Diacetoxyiodo) benzene [PhI (OAc) 2, DIB] was able to promote the reaction of sodium aryl sulfinate and potassiumiodide (KI) with alkenes and alkynes to afford the corresponding vinyl sulfones and β-iodovinyl sulfones, respectively, in good yields.
