Abstract

Abstract: The synthesis and reactions of cis-and trans-l, 2-dineopentylethylenes with m- chloroperbenzoic acid are described, as are the reactions of 1-pentene, 4-methyl-l-pentene, and neopentylethylene with perbenzoic acid. Comparison of the rates shows that the steric effect of neopentyl groups in these reactions of olefins are less than the effect in reactions involving addition to carbonyl groups. he objective of the research herein reported was to ...
