Abstract
The condensation reaction of 3 (2H)-thianapht~ ienone-l, l-dioxides (I) with aromatic aldehydes has been investigated, eg, 3 (2N)-thianaphthenone-l, l-dioxide condenses with benzaldehyde to give 2-benzyIidene-3 (2H)-thianaphthenone-l, 1-dioxide (IIa).
