Abstract

Summary The interaction of 2-fluorenediazonium chloride and acetic acid gives three compounds in the following yields: 2-chlorofluorene, 10%; S-acetoxyfluorene, 46.7%; and 2- hydroxyfluorene, 11%. From 2-fluorenonediazonium chloride and acetic acid there was obtained a 60% yield of 2-acetoxyfluorenone.
