Abstract
Abstract The first general method for direct displacement of sulfur from chiral carbon centers has been developed. Chiral mercaptans are readily converted to the corresponding thiaphosphonium salts by treatment with t-butyl hypochlorite and hexamethylphosphorous triamide.
