Abstract
This paper records results from a study of (a) the reactions of three typical organosodium compounds, Viz., benzyl-, amyl-and phenylsodium on bis-(p-chloroethyl) ether and bis- (chloromethyl) ether and (b) the reaction of amylsodium with mercuric chloride. Replacement of both chlorine atoms in these dichlorides by organic radicals was expected.
