Abstract
Preparation of Sulfinate Esters J. Org. Chem., Vol. 43, No. 18, 1978 3481 and evaporated to give 80 mg (9.4%) of the starting material 5. The acidic aqueous portion was adjusted to pH 10 with solid NaOH rind was extracted with 5 X 15 mL of ether. The ether layers were cclmbined, dried with MgS04, and evaporated to give a brown semisolid mass. Trituration with ether (10 mL) provided 570 mg (66.8%) of an off-white solid.
