Abstract

A pyrrole and two pyrroloindoles that are substituted with ap-toluenesulfonyl group undergo an ipso acylation-detosylation reaction with acid chlorides and aluminum chloride to afford the corresponding acyl-substituted pyrroles and pyrroloindoles.
