Abstract
The iodine-magnesium exchange is a unique method for the preparation of polyfunctional organomagnesium reagents. 1, 2 The efficient reaction of i-PrMgX with a wide range of functionalized aryl iodides proceeds under mild conditions so that various sensitive functional groups such as an ester, a nitrile, or an amide function are tolerated during the organomagnesium reagent formation.
