Abstract

A series of p-alkylallyl phenyl ethers and P-alkylallyl p-niethoxyphenyl cthers, in which t. he steric requirements of the alkyl group varied greatly have been synthesized. The rates of rearrangement of these ethers were determined and it was found that. all the/3-alkglallyl plienyl ethers reacted at nearly the same speed.
