Abstract
It is evident from the results in Table I that the migratory aptitude of the angular alkyl group plays a dominant role. There still remain to be unravelled, however, those factors which control rearrangement of the angular methyl compound, 4a. The data in Table I were obtained from rearrangements at room temperature in acetic anhydride-sulfuric acid and at 51.5" in 20.6 N sulfuric acid.
