Specialty Glass & Fiber Optics: Used in the production of specialty glass with unique optical/structural properties, including lithium silicate glass ceramics for dental applications and glass for fiber optic components and telecommunications. Energy & Batteries: Acts as a low-temperature fluxing/sintering agent in LFP cathode synthesis for extreme-climate lithium-ion batteries (EVs, grid storage). Also applied in magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) power generation.
