Abstract

The reactivity of a series of bicyclic olefins with nitrenes is profoundly influenced by the nature of remote functional groups. There is a marked lack of reactivity for reactions with carboethoxynitrene as compared to phthalimidonitrene which is distinctly nucleophilic in character.
