Several seril-s of benzoquinolines have been prepared in this Laboratory. The syntheses have heen divided into two groups; there are compounds of the plasinochin and atebrin types, 2, 3 and syntheses resulting in compounds somewhat related to quinine.? The present investigation has dealt with a study of the latter type in the benzo-(fjquinoline series.
