Abstract

In the previous paper, 2 the hydrogenolysis of acetals and ketals to hydroxyethers by “mixed h~ dride”~(lithium aluminurn hydride-aluminum chloride in a 1: 4 ratio) in ether solution was described. This method has now been extended to hemithioacetals and hemithioketals.
