Abstract A ruthenium complex, KNa [Ru 2 (C 6 H 6) 2 (CH 3 COO) 6](Ru-KNa), and its polyoxotungstate derivative, Na 6 [{Ru (C 6 H 6)} 2 W 8 O 28 (OH) 2]· 16H 2 O (Ru-Na), have been successfully isolated from routine synthetic reactions and characterized by X-ray single- crystal structure analysis, IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
