Abstract

Sulfones are an important class of functional group in organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry as well. Aryl sulfones are widely used in medicinal chemistry and found on several drugs, including the recently developed selective COX-2 inhibitor Vioxx. 1 Many methodologies exist for the preparation of aryl sulfones.
