Abstract

These glycols can also dissociate in an entirely different manner than that represented above. They can undergo what Biltz calls a “Caf? olid-Abban.” He contributes the interesting observation that the pyrimidine ring is also easily ruptured, under certain conditions, with formation of Characteristic hydantoin derivatives.
