Abstract

Abstract Silica chloride (SiO2-Cl), as a heterogeneous reagent, has been used for the efficient dehydration of tertiary alcohols under mild reaction conditions. For comparison, we have also used trimethylsilyl chloride (TMSCl) as a homogeneous reagent for this purpose.
