Abstract

In beginning an investigation of the reactions of elementary fluorine with organic compounds it was observed that fluorine prepared without especial precautions may contain considerable amounts of oxygen due to the presence of water in the electrolyte.'Such a gaseous mixture is unsuitable for reacting with organic compounds because of its very great oxidizing action.
