Abstract

Aroyl azides, ArCON3, are valuable intermediates and building blocks in the synthesis of various useful compounds, including isocyanates (the Curtius rearrangement), aromatic amides, iminophosphoranes,[1] and oxazoles.[2] Conventionally used general methods to synthesize aroyl azides are limited to diazotization of hydrazides and reactions of NaN3 with acid chlorides, mixed anhydrides, and N-acyl benzotriazoles.[1, 3] All of these procedures ...
