Abstract

Recently NH-3, 5-bis (arylidene)-4-piperidones 1 bearing F, Cl, NO2 or NMe2 substituents in the para-position of the aromatic ring (Scheme 1) were found to possess cytotoxic and antitumor activity [1-3]. In addition, their hydrochloride salts were well tolerated in mice (up to 240 mg/kg)[3].
