Abstract

As part of our program directed toward development of new families of acylation reagents, 1 we began to explore the chemistry of 2-substituted N, N-diacylanilines. 2 We have recently demonstrated that 2-trifluoromethyl-N, N-diacetylaniline2a and 2-chloro-N, N- dibenzoylaniline2b function as chemoselective acetylation and benzoylation reagents, respectively, for differentiating amino groups from one another.
