Abstract

Results Products.-When equimolar amounts of diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate and triphenylphosphine in hexane are allowed to react at room temperature, instantaneous gas evolution is observed and a white solid precipitates. The white precipitate, formed in quantitative yield, was identified as triphenylphosphine oxide by mixture melting point with an authentic sample.
