The reaction of the olefinic phosphines, R 2 P(allyl) (R t-butyl, cyclohexyl), with [(COT) 2 IrCl] 2 (COT cyclo-octene) in the presence of γ-picoline at room temperature yields the six coordinated, metallated complexes [(R 2 PCH 2 CH rHCl(R 2 PCHCHCH 2 )NC 6 H 7 ].
