Abstract The crystal and molecular structure of (C 6 H 5) 3 SnOCOCCH 2 CH 3 has been determined by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study. The crystal is monoclinic with space group P2 1/c, a= 11.902 (3), b= 10.104 (4), c= 16.721 (2) Å, β= 97.56 (1)°, V= 1930.4 Å 3, Z= 4 and D c= 1.495 g/cm 3, F (0, 0, 0)= 872, λ (Cu Kα)= 1.5418 Å.
