Abstract

Results Synthesis of the requisite monobromides was readily accomplished by treating the corresponding dibromides with tri-n-butyltin hydride. Yields in all cases were between 50 and 60%. The structure of 4 was assigned based on a correct elemental analysis and an NMR spectrum which exhibits a sharp singlet at 2.94 ppm (1 proton).
