Abstract

Enzymatic cis-dihydroxylation of benzo [b] thiophene, benzo [b] furan and several methyl substituted derivatives was found to occur in both the carbocyclic and heterocyclic rings. Relative and absolute configurations and enantiopurities of the resulting dihydrodiols were determined.
