Abstract: At ambient temperatures peroxybenzoyl nitrate (PBzN) is in equilibrium with benzoylperoxy radicals and NOz. In the presence of radical scavengers such as NO or I5NOZ, the equilibrium is perturbed and the disappearance of PBzN is determined by the O- NOZ homolysis rate constant (kl).
