Abstract

5a, R= Ac 6 7 8 9 loa, R= Ac 11 b, R= PhCO C, R=~-BuCO elimination of &alkoxy selenoxidess the production of 1 b was rapid at 0" C. It was possible to produce lb in acceptable yields (84-89%), providing that the elimination was carried out at 0" C; at room temperature considerable quantities of 3-methyl-2-butenol were produced in addition to lb.
