Abstract

A series of cationic salen-type Schiff base complexes of copper (II), the general formula of which is [Cu {R 3 N+–CH 2–C 6 H 3 (O−)–CH= N–} 2 X] Br 2 (R: CH 3, C 2 H 5, C 3 H 7, C 4 H 9; X: C 2 H 4, C 3 H 6, C 6 H 10, C 6 H 4, C 10 H 6), was newly prepared, and the molecular structure of complex 1 (R= CH 3, X= C 2 H 4) was determined by an X-ray crystal structure analysis.
