Abstract Flash vacuum pyrolysis and matrix-isolation studies of 6-bromo-6-(trimethylstannyl) bicyclo [3.1. 0] hexane (1) gave evidence for the formation of 1, 2-c. yclohexadiene (2) from this precursor. At high temperatures (600 C) 2 is not stable and fragmentates to 1-butene-3- yne (4) and ethylene.
