Abstract

Compounds I-XII were prepared by thermal attachment of alkylthiols to 4-vinylpyridine (4- VP) in the absence of catalysts and solvents, in a nitrogen atmosphere, using two methods. Method A was carried out in an autoclave at increased pressure (10-20 atm, II0-130~ 5-18 h), and method B was carried out in sealed ampules (70-120~ 6-23 h).
